I am an artist who was raised in Dayton, Ohio but whose family comes from Brooklyn, NY. I love to work with different mediums and textures to enhance and make you want to feel and experience what I created.
I attended the Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, Ohio and attended other classes on and off but I am mostly self taught. I have been creating art since I was a child. I finally decided to stop allowing things to get in my way and began pursuing my art more seriously thinking that if I don't try I'll never know whether I can make any kind of dent in the art world. So with lots of encouragement from my family and friends I have embarked on this endeavor.
I have been drawing and painting a series of images I call "The Lady Series". I have heard comments like..."I'm glad she made them with real looking bodies and not looking like starving sticks!" Yes, my ladies usually do have some...uh...attributes... really...lol! But sometimes they aren't because I create whatever I'm feeling at the time. I am not a thin person by all means but if I feel good that day then my art will project that and vice versa, of course. But more times than not I am drawing or painting women that are depicting the "REAL" woman, just like who most of us are. And sometimes my art consists of other subjects as well. I love doing abstracts and mosaics and I like experimenting with fiber art and jewelry. My art changes from day to day and I tend to be unpredictable so it’s hard for me to plan what I do. But I do try.
I sold an original work I did in 2005 called "SURFER GIRL". I hated to let her go because she represents to me who I want to be. She just does what she damned well wants to and doesn't give a poop about what anyone thinks about it! She isn't hurting anyone by doing what she does so what's the big deal? She isn't a Barbie Doll, in fact, she is very well endowed and she is well balanced on her surfboard doin' her thing. WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE TO BE JUST LIKE HER! "SURFER GIRL" is available in prints only and you can see her in my Gallery. Email me at [email protected]gmail.com if you would like more info!
I, also, enjoy photography. I offer prints that are great for any wall in your home or business!
